In Nursery, we have introduced our new topic of 'The Secret Garden' for this half-term. We were excited to discover that our roleplay area had changed into a garden centre with a beanstalk! We have been reading lots of stories, including Jack and the Beanstalk and Jaspers Beanstalk. We have been learning about the life cycle of a bean and have planted our own. We are excited to observe how they change over time.
Over the last two weeks in Nursery, we have been very excited to watch eggs hatch into chicks! We now have eight chicks. There are six girls and two boys. The children watched the eggs closely and were lucky enough to see some chicks hatching live at school. We have been learning about how to take care of the chicks and have been talking about the life cycle of a hen. Alongside this, we have also created lots of chick artwork using different materials and have displayed these in our classrooms.
