  • Woburn!

    Published 19/07/16

The whole school visited Woburn Safari Park last Friday. It was a fanatsatic day. The animals lit up so many faces with children continually smiling from the age of Nursery right through to Year 6. We saw lions, tigers, bears, wolves, giraffes, elephants, rhinos, monkeys, penguins, sea lions and much, much more, as well as getting to play on play areas and watch shows where the animals did tricks and were fed. Please visit our class blogs for more pictures and details.

A huge thank you to all parents who helped on the trip and to the RSA who donated a large proportion of the cost. We had perfect weather and enjoyed a wonderful day out at the end of our transition week.

  • Sports Day

    Published 07/07/16

Well done to Dragon House who won our whole-school Sports Day. It was a fabulous day where all children from Nursery through to Year 6 took part in many different events.

In the morning, our Nursery class were fantastic in their own mini sports day, doing a sprint race, a relay race and an obstacle race. Then Reception, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 children competed in their Houses doing a range of track and field events. After a lovely picnic lunch on the school field, the children all mixed up in to Euro teams and did a carousel of sporting activities. Well done to Italy who won the afternoon.

Despite who won the tropheys, it was all of the children who were the real winners. Their sportsmanship, effort and teamwork was amazing.

  • A great experience!

    Published 03/07/16

The Quicksticks Hockey team were fortunate enough to represent Stevenage at the Level 3 Herts School Games on Thursday. This was a result of finishing as runners up in the Level 2 competition earlier this term.

They took part in six matches, each one lasting 15 minutes, and they took part against a host of schools from different districts. They performed admirably, winning one game and drawing another, before losing four games by narrow margins. Overall, we finished 10th out of 12 schools, which is still a terrific achievement given we were one of the smallest schools there!

They had a wonderful time and got a great insight into how challenging it is to play in a County finals. I hope this experience encourages the children to take up more chances to play Hockey in the future. Well done!
