  • £1612 Raised

    Published 22/07/17

We did it! The community of Roebuck Academy has raised a massive £1612 for Scott Everett to help towards his stem cell treatment that he needs in Moscow. A huge thank you to everyone who has donated. Over £1300 was raised by July's Colour Run event and this has now been topped up with a further £252 from Gryphon House, who won this term's House Point competition. Gryphon have been trying to win for the RSPCA but have chosen instead to donate their winning money to Scott. The school is proud to hand over £1612 to the Everett's and we wish them all the success in the world in the next few months.

  • Gryphon Win!

    Published 22/07/17

Congratulations to Gryphon House who won this summer term's House Point competition. They had led throughout most of the term. It was a great achievement, winning with 252 House Points in total. The House Captains for Gryphon, Lexi (Y6) and Harry (Y5), have chosen to not donate the winning money to their charity RSPCA, but they wanted to donate the money to Scott Everett's stem cell treatment instead - a great gesture.

  • Colour Run!

    Published 19/07/17

The school held an amazing Colour Run last week to raise money for one of our children's dads Scott Everett. Scott needs stem cell treatment and his family are trying to raise £30,000 so that he can go to Moscow to receive the treatment he urgently needs. Everyone at Roebuck took part in a Colour Run event, led by the RSA, to help fund raise for this worthwhile cause. We are delighted to say that we have already raised over £1000 to donate. Thank you and please keep the money coming in.

  • Year 1 Maths Workshop

    Published 05/07/17

On Wednesday afternoon, Year 1 enjoyed a maths workshop. We practice counting in multiples of 10 and applied this when playing games such as 'Buzz'. We then used Numicon and diennes apparatus to make two-digit numbers. After this, we played number bond tennis and used ten frames to make number bonds. Mrs Elson was very impressed with the positive attitude to learning and the love for maths seen during the afternoon. It was a pleasure working with Year 1. Thank you to all the older Year 2 children who were helpers.
