News in Year 1 2 11 26

In Maths we have stared learning about subtraction. We have been working practically to find our starting number, take some cubes away and then count what is left. We have been showing our learning in a part part whole model. 

In Literacy we read ‘The Train Ride’ and then wrote our very own stories called ‘The Bus Ride’. We will be reading these stories to another class! 

In Art we have been learning about Alma Thomas and mixing colours to create a masterpiece!

Phonics has been all about split sounds (a-e, e-e, i-e, o-e, u-e). We are becoming experts at spotting these sounds hiding inside words.
