News in Year 2 2 11 26

Year 2 finished the half term with a fantastic finish! We invited parents into school to help us draw pictures of the Great Fire of London, which we later used to create our own block-printing artwork. Afterwards, we headed onto the playground to watch our Tudor houses, which we had designed and built in DT, being set alight. As the flames spread, we sang London's Burning until the fire finally went out.

To celebrate Black History Month, we have been learning about Leland Melvin, the first Black astronaut to travel into space. We explored his inspiring journey from NFL football player to NASA astronaut and even had the opportunity to try on an astronaut suit ourselves!
