Year 1 started a new non-fiction unit this week and had a very exciting trip to the Woods! We went on a colour hunt, made leaf rubbings, drank hot chocolate and used magnifying glasses to look at leaves up close! We will then be writing a recount of everything we got up to.

We have also started a new Maths unit all about Number bonds. We have focused on part part whole models and finding different ways to make the same number. 

In Year 1 we LOVE reading. We love to take every opportunity to read and this week we tried to read in an exciting, new place. Maple read their stories on the Pirate Ship and down in the Sensory garden. Elm snuck under their classroom tables and enjoyed their stories together in comfort! 

Well done to all Year 1 children who have started to use Numbots at home to support their Maths. This term we will be celebrating the leader board based on ‘number of coins earned’ each week.
