Roebuck's Library

We have a stunning library at Roebuck that children and families can use regularly. Our library is open to all of the school community between 3:15-4:00pm on Mondays and 8:15-8:45am on Wednesdays (term time only). Our children also visit the library regularly when they are in class, throughout the school day.

We have a fabulous range of books that children (and parents) can browse through and these can be borrowed and taken home. The shelves are organised by genre and are in alphabetical order and amongst these are many 'information frames' so that you can find out all about your favourite author, or those that we recommend. There are shelves that show each class and teacher's recommended book choice and there are cuddly toys that the children can meet who are their favourite characters from their favourite stories.

There are books for children of all ages. Our RSA donated a huge sum of money so that the school could buy brand new literature. Families can now choose from hundreds of Fiction and Non-Fiction titles and can adventure through new genre such as Graphic Novels and Science Fiction. For our Key Stage 2 children, many of the books contain ZPR stickers as well so finding an Accelerated Reader choice is easy.

The library offers a comfortable seating environment for parents to spend quality time enjoying a book with their children - use our library to escape from the manic pace of every day life. There are over 30 desktop computers that can also be used if you want to spend time together looking online or even doing work that might need doing in the peace and quiet.

Each child has their own special book mark which they use to show that they have borrowed a book and so that it can be returned to it's correct home afterwards. We have a team of fabulous Year 5 Librarians who are on hand to look after visitors and will help guide and advise the children when they are wanting to find books of their choice.
