What fantastic couple of weeks we have had in Year 1!

We were delighted to welcome local artist Amanda Jewitt, who inspired the children with a wonderful art session. Amanda introduced the class to the work of the pioneering photographer and botanist Anna Atkins, who is famous for creating beautiful cyanotype prints using plants and natural objects. The children thoroughly enjoyed learning about her artwork and exploring their own creativity. They asked thoughtful questions and produced some fantastic pieces inspired by Anna Atkins' work.

We also enjoyed our annual Sports Morning. Despite the very warm weather, all of the children showed incredible determination, resilience and excellent sportsmanship. They kept their cool, cheered on their teammates and tried their very best in every event, earning valuable points for their house teams. We were so proud of the way they encouraged one another and demonstrated our school values throughout the morning.

A huge well done to all of Year 1 for your enthusiasm, teamwork and positive attitudes. We are incredibly proud of each and every one of you!
