In year 5 we have been focusing on lots of different subjects: Geography, Literacy, Science. Our new topic in Geography for this half-term is deserts (not the puddings 😂). In Literacy, we have been looking at Michael Morpurgos': I Believe in Unicorns. We have learnt about the main character, Tomas, and we have been reenacting some of his feelings using drama and freeze frames, as well as generating vocabulary about the setting of the bomb-damaged library. In Maths, we have been converting units of measurement: mass, length and volume, and we have been converting both metric and imperial units. In Science, we have continued looking at life cycles and, this week, we looked at the life cycle of amphibians. We created a visual diagram of the life cycle and labelled the key stages.
