Latest news in Year 5

As we approach the end of Year 5, we have been finishing off a lot of our units and topics and having lots of fun along the way. As part of our PE, we have been learning how to play bowls, so, as a treat, we were invited to Shephalbury Park to play on the bowls green with 'Three Horseshoes Bowls Club'. We had lots of mini-games while we were there and had the chance to use real woods at the end of the session. In Literacy, we have been working on a text called 'The Present' based on a video, and created our own independent writing pieces from this. We designed a border and wrote up our work in best to showcase all of our wonderful learning throughout the year. We have been learning about area and perimeter in maths and, most recently, learnt how to work out Roman Numerals. Lastly, we have created our own stuffed animal toys for DT. We drew a few different designs and picked a final one which we cut out of felt and sewed together. Finally, we stuffed the design to make our own 3D plushies.
