Splish! Splash!

Water, Water everywhere.

As the children arrived back to school on Tuesday morning they noticed that there had been some changes to their classrooms. Oak class has a new area dedicated to digging and planting bean seeds. The children can use trowels to help scoop the soil and plant a little seed in a pot, and give their little seed some water. In Willow class there is a Beach Cafe, where the children can sit down with a friend and order a tasty sandwich or a vanilla milkshake whilst the cafe staff wait on them.

So far the children have really enjoyed exploring and playing in these new areas. The teachers have also enjoyed tasting the lovely cakes and meals that the various cafe owners have made for them.

These exciting new areas in our classrooms link to our topic of Water, which we will be covering over the Summer Term. Our focus for the next few weeks will be about the life cycles of plants and how plants need water to survive. In literacy, we are reading Jaspers Beanstalk. We have created a story map and are currently learning to re-tell the story using actions.
